After meeting at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, Dan & Elise moved to Portland in 2009 to work for local food luminaries Greg Higgins (Higgins Restaurant) and Ken Forkish (Ken's Artisan Bakery). The attractions to Portland at the time were the burgeoning local food scene, ample access to the outdoors, and great beer. Life was simple.
Ten years later, having worked in many corners in and outside of the food and beverage world, including spending seasons on a farm, cooking in a farm-to-cafeteria program for school kids, launching natural foods products, working for a regional wine retailer, and running a specialty beverage line for a James Beard Award winning chef; we are excited to bring our skills, values, and knowledge to blossom in our own neighborhood deli.
At Sebastiano's, we return to our roots of cooking hand-made, well-crafted, and delicious fare. We look forward to sharing what we love most about the Pacific Northwest through the lens of Elise's Sicilian ancestry and culinary tradition to create something unique and special for everyone.
